Please pray for my wife Patti. She has been diagnosed with stage 3 esophogeal cancer. We will find out what course of treatment the Doctor recommends this coming Thursday, May 6. I will keep you posted.
Also pray for a dear friend, Eva Howard, from London, KY. She has lung cancer and will be receiving treatment at Vanderbilt hospital. Eva is a dedicated child of God. She has been with me on mission trips to Brazil and has become very special to Patti and me.

Haiti

Please be much in prayer for the Haitian people and those from around the world who try to minister to them in the aftermath of this terrible tragedy. There will be a disaster relief training on March 6 at the First Baptist Church of Richmond for those who feel the Lord leading them to serve. We will keep you posted as ministry opportunities begin to develop. An assessment team is on the ground now and will be developing a plan within the next few weeks.

I know that I’m not very good at blogging. But at the beginning of this new year I would like to ask everyone who reads this to join me in praying for revival for our town, our county, our state and our country. We are planning a revival meeting some time in May at our church. But I don’t want to just have a meeting and I don’t want us to expect it to start then. I pray that we will begin to see results of God working in our midst immediatley.

I pray that everyone has had a wonderful Christmas as we celebrated the birth of our Lord and that this new year will bring health, happiness and a renewed committment to serving our Lord.

May God bless you and your families.

Hello everyone. I am writing this blog from our vacation spot in Florida. As most of you may know by now our grandson Ethan became very sick all at once and passed out in a store we were shopping in. It really scared us. A lot of people responded to our daughter Kelly’s cry for help. For a precaution he was taken by ambulance to the emergency room at a hospital in Orlando. They gave him a good check out and ruled that he was dehidrated and his potassium level was low. He is much better today. I appreciate all your prayers for Ethan as well as Chritian people who gathered around us in the store and prayed as the emt’s worked with him. In spite of this incident we are having a great time as we vacation in Florida. We look forward to seeing you next week.

Reflections on Easter Services

Hello everyone. It is late Tuesday afternoon and I am still rejoicing over the Service this past Sunday. The day started with a sunrise service with around 30 or so in attendance. It was a brisk, cold morning but the sunrise was beautiful. Lanny brought a wonderful message that both challenged and stirred our hearts.
We had over 300 attend the worship service at 11:00 which was held in the Family Life Center. Beverly and Mike did a superb job with the special music. The video with clips from the Passion of Christ was so moving.
During the invitation Pete Garcia came forward to make public his profession of faith in Christ. His wife Shelia came with him and joined our fellowship by letter.
It was a wonderful day.
Please pray for me as I begin a revival meeting at the Good Hope Baptist Church this coming Sunday morning, April 19. Pray for the pastor, Jamie Hamilton as he leads that congregation.
Have a blessed rest of the week and may God richly bless each of you.

Sunday in Jerusalem, Israel

Here’s an update from the Holy Land. Today is Sunday. As I write this it is 8:30 Sunday evening in Jerusalem. We just returned from a visit to Bethlehem. I called the church just after the 11:00 worship service began. No one would answer their cell phones so I could talk to the congregation live. I did try though.
The day started with a visit to the Mount of Olives, Gethsemane, etc. It has rained pretty hard and been cold all day long, but that didn’t dampen anyone’s spirts. I may not have time to post any more updates so don’t worry if you don’t hear from me in the web site any more till we get back home.

Saturday in Jerusalem, Israel

Hello everyone. As you can see our new web site is finally up and running. We owe a special debt of gratitude to Todd and Tracy Jarman for all their work in putting this together.
One of the features of our web site is the pastor’s blog. So here, goes with my first one.
It is 8:10 Saturday evening here in Jerusalem, Israel. Today has been a busy one for our tour group. This morning we went to Massada and spent some time visiting the ruins there. Then we went to Qumron and visited where the dead sea scrolls were found. After leaving there we went to the dead sea and spent some time swimming in it. Then we went to Jericho to visit where the walls came tumbling down.
Tomorrow we visit the Mt. of Olives first thing and then the garden of Gethsemane. The rest of our time will be spent in Jerusalem until we leave to go to Egypt on Tuesday.
I pray that you will have a great service on Sunday.
I love you all.
